“I gotta hit The Source, I need my other half a mic because that Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik was a classic, right?”
Skew it on the Bar-B.
1998 was a great year for music. The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, 400 Degreez, Its Dark and Hell is Hot, Vol.2 Hard Knock Life all droped that year. But in 1998 the South made noize. Organized Noize.
Before crankin dat there was the Dungeon Family. Outkast, Sleepy Brown,Goodie MOB, Cool Breeze.Them boys. Sure the south had P, but lets be real, No Limit wasn’t lyrical and didn’t reverse the northern misconception that “southerners are slow” and had nothing to say. Make em say Ungggghhh? Yeah.No.
The influence felt by the Dungeon Family movement is phenomenal. And Aquemini’s influence was nothing short. Aquemini in my opinon is when Andre let go of being the rapper and became 3 Stacks. The opulent gentleman who continues to evolve and remain true to the infamous Gemini streotype. Big Boi held him down better than any other partner could have. This album was about growth. The collaberation with Raekwon on this track was epic and this collaberation set the stage for substanial North/South Rap collaberations to come.
Southernplayalisticadillacmuzic was a classic. But Mr. Patton, Im glad the source denied it 5 Mics, because its that missing piece that made my boys hungry.
